I never rode the bus to school when I was little, and i feel like i missed out on some important lessons riding the bus teaches you. Now that I'm all grown up, sometimes I take the bus to school. this morning was one of those bus rides that teaches you a few facts of life. Today, this is what i learned:
1. as if riding the bus to school didn't already make me feel like a third grader, I have to go wait in line with all the other people waiting for the bus, during which everyone does that little awkward "waiting for the bus" sway with their legs, and avoids eye contact as much as possible, and nothing weirds you out more than someone who invades you "waiting for the bus" space.
2. I know i'm handicapped-short. i'm reminded everyday, but this morning i sit down on the bus, and my feet don't touch. i look like a 12 year old who's running away from home.
3. there's a couple in front of me, i'm sure they've been dating for 4 weeks, which means they're probably almost engaged. she's talking at speeds which are unhealthy for any human being. i'm annoyed within the first few seconds. everyone knows you don't utter a word once you're on the bus. her poor, poor boyfriend is just nodding as she rambles on and on about the most useless things. after 4.3 minutes i started looking for something sharp to use to put him out of his misery. he literally looked pained. haha, lesson? NEVER BE THAT GIRLFRIEND. ever.
